Press The Whole World In a Utility Pole... STATEMENT: The placement of color to define space and line is integral to my work. However, it is secondary in my search for pure composition - that which will withstand any combination of line or color. I work in dry pastel, usually on 4-ply rag paper. I use mainly Schmincke soft pastels, Carb-Othello pastel pencils and all variety of charcoal pencils. I use fixative sparingly. I work mainly from my photographs; some verbatim, others only for reference.
